David Berger has served as cantor of KAM Isaiah Israel Congregation in Chicago since 2014. Previously he served Congregation Tikvat Jacob Beth Torah in Manhattan Beach, CA and Congregation Beit Simchat Torah in New York City. He has a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MA in Jewish Philosophy from the Jewish Theological Seminary. In 2007 he received cantorial ordination from HUC – JIR Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music where he twice won the Cantor Israel Goldstein Prize and also earned the Lawrence Hoffman Prize in Liturgy. He has appeared in concerts in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Israel, London and Rome. His CD, Chalamti Chalom, I Dreamt a Dream is a collection of Jewish peace songs.
