Natalie Young

Cantor Natalie Young is a vocalist, guitarist, and pianist who has composed more than fifty original liturgical and secular works. Her debut solo album, Carry Me, was followed by her recently released second album of original music, Standing On the Shoulders (in collaboration with Beth Schafer and John Marsden). Born and raised in Los Angeles, she graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, earning a bachelor’s degree in music with a concentration in conducting. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2004 Dr. Joseph Memorial Prize for Excellence in Composition and the 2005 Guild of Temple Musicians Award. Invested as cantor in 2006 by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City, she currently serves as cantor at Temple Beth El of South Orange County, Aliso Viejo, California. www.natalieyoungmusic.com
